FAQ
Short answers to what people ask most.
The basics
What is Sundial?
A Windows program that runs your Umamusume Global accounts for you. It loops the game's own Independent Training (start a career, let it run, buy the skills, bank the parent, start the next) and clears every daily, claims rewards and looks after clubs and friends in the same rounds.
Is Sundial free?
Yes. Download it from this site or the Discord and it is yours, with no subscription.
How many accounts can it run?
Up to twelve, each fully separate: its own deck, parents, scenario, skills, races and dailies. While one account's career runs on the game's servers, Sundial banks another and starts a third, so twelve accounts do not take twelve times as long.
How many parents can it produce?
As many as your accounts can train. A fresh parent lands in the inheritance pool at the end of every career, roughly every 50 minutes per account, for as long as you leave it on. Set Careers to run or Stop at fans to make an account stop on its own.
Which scenarios does it support?
URA Finale, Unity Cup, Grand Concert and Trackblazer. Sundial reads the game's own data, so new characters and game versions are picked up without a reinstall.
Does it work with the Japanese game?
No. Sundial is for Umamusume: Pretty Derby Global, on Steam.
Safety and your account
Is this safe for my account?
Automating the game is against Cygames' Terms of Service and carries a real account risk. Sundial's always-on, human-shaped pacing is built to look natural, but nothing makes automation undetectable. Use it in moderation, at your own risk.
Where do my passwords go?
Nowhere. Data Link passwords and your Steam session are encrypted with Windows, tied to your user and PC, never shown by the dashboard and never written to a log.
Does it need the game open?
No. Sundial talks to the game's servers directly, so the game stays closed and your PC is free. The game and Sundial share one sign-in, so press Stop before playing an account yourself.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC"
That's Windows SmartScreen, and it's expected: Sundial is signed with its own certificate rather than one bought from a public authority, so Windows does not know the publisher yet. Choose More info, then Run anyway. Sundial checks its own signature every time it starts.
Windows Defender flagged Sundial
Sundial unpacks a few helper files once, into %LOCALAPPDATA%\Icarus\Sundial, and reuses that folder. If Defender objects, exclude that one folder.
Can I open the dashboard from my phone?
Yes, through a tunnel you run yourself, such as Cloudflare Tunnel or Tailscale: add its hostname under Settings › Running › Remote access. Sundial has no password of its own, so protect the tunnel first, for example with Cloudflare Access.
Something not working
A career won't start
The reason is always named, on the account and in the log. Most often it is a career left half-played in the game: the game allows one at a time, so finish or quit it, or turn on Delete the unfinished career for that account. Other named causes: out of TP, a full veteran box, an event that has ended, or the friend card you chose not on offer right now. The loop tries again on its own.
A picker on an account looks empty
Sundial has not visited that account yet. Open the account and press Visit now to load its decks, veterans, friends and races.
An account says it is parked
One account that cannot go on, for example with no TP or a full veteran box, parks with a plain reason while the others keep looping. Fix what it names and it picks up again.
How do I check that everything is healthy?
Settings › Data & health shows your game data, version, Steam sign-in, loop and webhooks at a glance.
How do I report a bug?
Open Settings › Data & health, press Copy summary under Diagnostics, and paste it when you ask on the Discord.
Data and updates
Where do my accounts and settings live?
In folders next to Sundial.exe. Back up that folder and you have backed up everything.
How do I update Sundial?
Sundial checks for new versions by itself and installs a signed update from Settings › Updates. Your accounts, settings and statistics are kept.
Can I go back to the previous version?
Yes. Roll back in Settings › Updates switches to the version you ran before your last update, and the same button switches forward again.
I used Sundial 1.2. Does my data carry over?
Yes. 1.3 picks up your accounts, settings, statistics and logs as they are, and the dashboard looks and works the same.
